FaSD is Not a Punchline

A message for the Saturday Night Live team:

The FASD Project does not believe in censorship of comedy, but we do believe the SNL sketch Jan 15, 2022 (https://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/winter-formal/970181819) unintentionally added stigma to an already stigmatized topic: prenatal alcohol exposure.

Prenatal alcohol exposure can create lifelong challenges, but not the ones SNL made fun of.   People with FASD have talents and worth, and do not suffer from “crusty lips” or “chronic swamp ass”. We encourage SNL cast, crew, producers, directors and writers to watch our award winning short documentary (https://youtu.be/6hFZxRU5Jzw) to learn more about FASD.

Please consider formally endorsing national legislation to support those living with FASD: https://nofaspolicycenter.org/the-fasd-respect-act/

Thanks for hearing us out!
